Webinar slides: the path to a healthy Active Directory

The complete presentation from the migRaven.MAX webinar of 26 March 2026 by Thomas Gomell, CEO of migRaven GmbH — IT governance rethought: from chaos to control as a continuous cycle for permissions, structures and security.

From black box AD to the governance cycle

Years of uncontrolled growth leave chaos in file servers and AD structures. Using the chaos score, the webinar shows how every nesting level multiplies the risk — with 1,000 users and 3,000 groups, loss of control begins at level 6.

The four phases

  1. Analysis & understanding — full transparency over structures that have grown over time; the knowledge graph links AD groups, OUs, file servers, shares, NTFS permissions, GPOs and users into a navigable network.
  2. Clean-up & structuring — tidying up systematically: no blind deletion, but controlled migration into clean structures; permissions are rethought from the ground up.
  3. Provisioning and 4. Monitoring — permissions are granted through defined processes and monitored cyclically; deviations are detected automatically and corrected in real time by AI.

This includes consistent Ownership — and MAX as the AI specialist at the team's side: project planning with realistic migration plans, 24/7 advice on permissions and AD structures, intelligent automation that prevents tomorrow's chaos.
